ABOUT US

Kristin has a B.S. in Business Management from SUU and an MSEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Learning Design and Technology from Purdue University. She enjoys working in course development in higher education. Additionally, over the last 14 years, she taught children private piano lessons, private and group art lessons, and developed group art lessons for the elderly in an assisted living setting. Kristin enjoys homeschooling her children and co-founded and developed courses for a homeschool co-op. After seeing so many parents looking for art classes for their homeschooled children, or to supplement lack of art education in public school, Kristin wanted to make fine art education more accessible and affordable. She developed the ArtSloths curriculum with the belief that art and creativity can brighten the lives of children. In addition to creating art, she enjoys playing the piano, sewing, and reading cozy mysteries.

Leslie was a successful business owner and entrepreneur for 15 years. In addition, she volunteered in public schools with no art programs to bring the benefits of art to children. She taught an art curriculum focused on art history, fine art, and creative expression. As the wife of a USAF veteran, she traveled extensively during his military service. This gave her an appreciation for diverse cultures, particularly how artistic ideas are expressed and shared across different cultures. With this in mind, Leslie developed the ArtSloths curriculum with an appreciation for cultural diversity. Much of Leslie’s time is spent enjoying her ten grandchildren. She particularly likes helping with their homeschooling or homework, teaching them to sew and bake, showing them how to plant and tend a garden, and listening to them play their musical instruments or seeing their latest art project.
